No Borders Youth Music Project
A partnership project between ACDC and Streeties which will provide music skills to local
Indigenous youth resulting in the development of a Streeties Indigenous Youth Band.

Artisan Markets:
A small group of keen artists have progressed plans for a Mid West Artisan Market looking
to be held around August this year. We hope to provide an update soon!

Expressions of interest are open for setting up cells in the Old Jail Building at the Bill
Sewell Complex, Geraldton with unique products to sell. The aim is to focus on Sunday
market days, Saturdays and cruise ship visits.
General opening times are 10.00am – 3.00pm but there is flexibility in this with the
possibility of an honour / roster system being put in place down the track.

Department of Culture and the Arts 2009 Grants Rounds
Catalyst community arts fund is now open for applications! This round closes on 30 March
2010 for projects beginning after 1 July 2010. Catalyst supports projects where artists or
facilitators work with people in the community to explore and express their values and
beliefs through creative means. If you have a project idea that could fit, visit DCA website
and download the guidelines that details what Catalyst can and cannot fund and who can
apply. If you're looking for a little inspiration, check out what was funded in the September

Camera Recycle Project
Have you recently upgraded your digital camera?
The Camera Recycle Project collect donations of old or unused cameras and other
photographic equipment (i.e. memory cards, USB drives, computers, tripods) from the
community and make it available to disadvantaged youth in the form of a 'technology
library'.

The Seed Music Funding
To launch The Seed, a brand NEW WEBSITE is live, check out: www.theseedfund.org.
This new website is an information source, to artists and arts workers in the establishment
phase of their careers, assisting and guiding in self sufficiency.
The 2010 grant categories are live on the website. This year there is a focus on incidental
and social activism in The Arts For The Public program, while the immensely successful
Management Workshop Initiative will return once again. A new and exciting program is
The Seed And Skinnyfish Indigenous Community Music Initiative, which will see a
partnership between The Seed and Skinnyfish Music to create opportunities and
encourage positive outcomes in community life through music.

• YARTS –
 Are continuing to tour the successful exhibition of “Ilgariji – Thing’s Belonging to The Sky”.
They have just completed the third show at Curtin University of this fantastic exhibition
displaying the works of local Aboriginal artist. It now moves to the MARBO Room in the
AITSIS building in Canberra.

 YARTS will be holding their annual Christmas sale at the YARTS gallery in the Bill Sewell
Complex in December.
